Melvyn Tan, Fortepiano - Livestream
Wednesday, 18 November
1pm - c. 2.10pm ( includes post concert conversation with Melvyn Tan)
Sonata in F major K 533/K 494
Fantasia in C minor K 396 (completed by Stadler)
Sonata in A minor K 310
The series begins with an all-Mozart lunchtime recital played on a fortepiano similar to the instruments the composer would have known, by Melvyn Tan – “the most thoughtful, elegant and refined of pianists” (The Guardian).
The programme consists of a composite Sonata from the composer’s later years in Vienna, an improvisatory Fantasia which has survived only as a tantalising fragment, and a vehement early Sonata.
